Enneagram Typing Trailhead
a guided process for finding your Enneagram Type
This is not a quiz.
Maybe your boss sent you here. Maybe you've taken an Enneagram quiz before and walked away with a number that didn't quite stick. Either way, you've landed somewhere different.
Enneagram Typing Trailhead is a guided typing process. You'll work through two assessments, watch videos on the types most relevant to your results, and use a workbook that helps you sort out what's actually true rather than what just sounds right. You'll leave with a type and an instinctual bias, and a clear sense of what to do with both.

What this is and isn’t.
The Enneagram is not a personality label. It's a map that gives language to why you do what you do, especially under pressure, in relationships, and when something keeps not working the way you want it to.
This course doesn't assign you a type. It guides you through a process of recognizing one. There's a difference, and it matters.
Nothing here tells you who you are. The assessments give you a starting hypothesis. The videos help you test it. The workbook is where you do the thinking. You come to your own conclusions.
If someone sent you here and you're not sure this is for you, that's a reasonable place to start. The process is designed to earn your trust, not assume it.
How it works.
Chapter 1: The Enneagram and the three intelligence centers Before the nine types, there are three centers. Knowing which one feels most like home narrows the field significantly. You'll end this chapter with your first hypothesis and your first assessment.
Chapter 2: The instinctual biases Same type, three distinct flavors. This layer explains why a description can feel mostly right but not quite land. You'll end this chapter with your second hypothesis and your second assessment.
Chapter 3: Find your type Nine type videos, one for each Enneagram type. You watch the ones most relevant to your results, using the workbook to track what resonates and what doesn't. This is where the two hypotheses come together.
Two assessments. Thirteen videos. A workbook that guides every step. $97.
Who made this.
I'm Stephanie J Spencer, an accredited Enneagram professional, executive and leadership coach, and the author of Out of the Box and Into the Wild. I've worked with individuals and teams across Fortune 500 companies, universities, small businesses, and more.
I'm not interested in giving you a label. I'm interested in giving you something useful. People who have come to my work skeptical have left saying they felt more free, not more boxed in. That's the only outcome worth designing for.
Questions
-
No. Chapter 1 starts from the beginning.
-
That's a fair question. The course is designed to let you come to your own conclusions. Nothing is assigned to you. You confirm or reject every hypothesis yourself. If it turns out the Enneagram isn't useful to you, you'll know that by the end with a lot more clarity than you started with.

Tests can be helpful, but they are only one data point. They are only about 50% accurate on average. Why? Because a test can’t tell you if you misunderstood a question, if you were in a bad mood when you took it, or if there is something you want to be so badly that you are stretching your answers to fit.
But more than that, relying on a test alone shortcuts the process of self-discovery. If your goal is awareness, growth, and change, that takes time and intention. Clicking some buttons and accepting the results that come will not be enough to get you there.
Give yourself the gift of more.

A quiz gives you a result. This gives you a process for figuring out whether that result is actually right, and what it means if it is. The instinctual bias layer alone tends to change how people understand descriptions they thought they already knew.
-
A second layer beneath your type that shapes where and how your patterns show up. It's why two people of the same type can look remarkably different. Chapter 2 introduces it.
-
Most people complete it in about two hours. You can move at your own pace.
Whether someone sent you here or you found your own way, the process works the same. You do the work. You come to your own conclusions. You leave with something you can actually use.
